Investigators have released no vehicle description after a woman was found unresponsive on Camp Creek Parkway early Friday.
SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Police are searching for a vehicle involved in an early-morning collision that killed a woman riding a motorized scooter on Camp Creek Parkway, as investigators work to determine how the crash happened.
South Fulton police were called to Camp Creek Parkway between Merk Road and Enon Road shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Officers found an unresponsive woman along the roadway. Grady EMS personnel arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the woman was riding a motorized scooter when a vehicle struck her. Police were looking for the vehicle involved but had not released a description as of Saturday. Authorities also had not publicly identified a driver.
Police asked for information from anyone who may know something about the crash or the vehicle involved. Investigators have not announced what evidence was recovered at the scene or whether surveillance footage, witness accounts or other records are available to help identify the vehicle.
The woman’s identity remained undisclosed pending notification of her next of kin. Her age had not been released. Police also had not said where she began her trip, where she was headed or how long she had been traveling on the scooter before the collision.
The investigation closed a section of Camp Creek Parkway for several hours overnight. Police said the roadway reopened at approximately 4:51 a.m. after investigators completed their work at the scene and traffic was allowed through the area again.
The fatal collision is not the first deadly incident investigated on Camp Creek Parkway. In May 2025, South Fulton police investigated a separate case in which a woman was found in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle on Camp Creek Parkway south of Old Fairburn Road. Police said the driver in that earlier case left the scene. The two incidents have not been linked.
Authorities have not said whether Friday’s collision will be classified as a hit-and-run, and no charges had been announced. Police have also not identified speed, impairment, road conditions or another factor as a cause of the crash.
South Fulton police said the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. Until additional findings are released, key questions remain about the vehicle involved, the driver and the sequence of events that led to the woman’s death.
