NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A violent altercation at a WeGo bus stop in Edgehill has shocked the community, with witnesses stepping in courageously to try and stop a brutal stabbing attack.
The Metro Nashville Police Department has reported that Jacob Boswell, 31, has been arrested and charged with attempted criminal homicide in connection with the incident. According to the affidavit for Boswell’s arrest, witnesses alerted authorities to a male stabbing another male at the 12th Avenue and Wedgewood Avenue bus stop around 5:18 a.m.
Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing scene, describing how Boswell allegedly stabbed a man multiple times while the victim was already on the ground, covered in blood. Witnesses mentioned that Boswell even used his body weight to press on the victim’s head during the attack. In a bid to intervene, people at the scene used a chair to separate Boswell from the victim, hearing him make threatening statements like “This guy needs to die” and “Somebody has to die, I’m gonna kill you.”
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to find Boswell looming over the victim with a knife pointed at their head and neck. The victim was rushed to Vanderbilt Emergency with severe, life-threatening injuries as a result of the brutal assault.
