What You Need to Know: House Republicans Say Biden Impeachment Inquiry Is Imminent

Chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Representative James Comer of Kentucky, stated on Wednesday that he believes an impeachment inquiry aimed at President Joe Biden will likely be “imminent.” This announcement comes amid growing calls from Republican lawmakers to initiate impeachment proceedings, particularly after several months of ongoing investigations into the Biden family’s overseas business activities.

During a televised conversation with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Comer stated that there is a general consensus within the Republican conference to move towards an impeachment inquiry. Comer said it was the next logical step. While he acknowledged that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy would make the ultimate decision, Comer expressed his belief that such a move was “imminent.”

The White House has repeatedly asserted that President Biden was neither involved in nor aware of his son Hunter Biden’s international business ventures, which have come under close examination from investigators. However, Representative Comer refutes these claims, alleging that the evidence they’ve gathered points to a different conclusion.

Comer told Hannity, “I am here to tell you, Sean, Joe Biden was front and center,” Implying that President Biden was directly involved. Comer stated that their investigations have shown that he had meetings with individuals he has claimed never to have met. Comer added they are compiling a timeline to show that Hunter Biden made multiple trips to these countries, many of them aboard Air Force Two, while his father was serving as Vice President of the United States.

In line with these allegations, the House Oversight Committee recently submitted a formal request to the National Archives, asking for documentation that details Hunter Biden’s use of Air Force Two for foreign travel. According to reports that have surfaced recently, Hunter Biden joined his father, who was then serving as Vice President, on over a dozen overseas trips utilizing the aircraft designated Air Force Two.

In the House, impeachment sentiments against President Biden are not isolated. Representatives Greg Steube of Florida and Andy Ogles of Tennessee have already submitted filings to impeach the President. In a statement released earlier this month, Steube claimed that Joe Biden should be impeached since his actions have been detrimental to the United States and its citizens, eroding the integrity of the presidential office. According to Steube, “It’s long past time to impeach Joe Biden.”

South Carolina Representative Ralph Norman has openly praised Comer’s investigative prowess. In an interview with Just the News, he stated, “I don’t know what more people need.” He further lauded Comer for unveiling undeniable evidence that implicates President Biden and his son, Hunter, in questionable activities at the very least.

Former President Donald Trump also offered his perspective, advocating for immediate impeachment without requiring additional inquiry. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that Joe Biden is corrupt and there’s no need for a lengthy impeachment inquiry. The evidence is already clear, whether it’s Ukraine or other issues. It’s time to act without further delay. “IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION.”
