Violent Robbery Attempt Ends in Injuries and Death in St Catherine Community

Three people were injured and a would-be robber was killed in an incident in the Victoria district of St. Catherine on Thursday night. Investigators from the Linstead Police Station are still working to identify the deceased man, who allegedly attempted to rob the injured individuals.

According to reports, the incident took place around 10:40 p.m. while the victims were at the rear of their home on Old Road, tending to chickens. The man allegedly approached them and brandished what appeared to be a firearm, leading to a struggle.

During the altercation, one of the victims was injured on the leg, but the commotion attracted the attention of community members who came to their aid. The perpetrator was subsequently subdued, sustaining injuries to his lower body and head. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Upon investigation, the police discovered an imitation firearm, two machetes, a knife, and an ice pick at the scene. The injured individuals were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
