Violent Perry County Attack Leads to Sentencing of 3 Suspects, Trial Dates for Others

PERRY COUNTY, Ind. – A violent attack that occurred in Perry County has resulted in the sentencing of one of the suspects, Dakota Hedinger. Prosecutors announced that Hedinger has been sentenced to 12 years in prison and two years of probation for his role in the assault. The attack, which took place in December of 2022, involved Hedinger, along with Jacob Burch and Elizabeth Potts, luring the victim to a location before repeatedly beating them with baseball bats. A fourth suspect, Alicia Kellems, was recently charged in connection to the case as well.

Jacob Burch, another individual involved in the assault, has already been sentenced to 20 years in prison earlier this month. Elizabeth Potts is scheduled for trial in March, while Alicia Kellems has a court date set for later this month. The case continues to unfold as the legal proceedings progress.
