Prisons spokesman Frank Baine revealed that warders detained a phone snatcher at a funeral and placed him on the bus to take him to the police station, but a group of youth intervened, seeking to take justice into their own hands.

Despite being outnumbered, the warders managed to defend themselves and seek refuge at a nearby Police post, eventually handing the suspect over to the authorities.
