Violent Attack and Robbery in Southern California Leaves Woman Shattered: Suspect on the Run

San Fernando, California – A woman was violently assaulted and robbed of her purse in a broad daylight attack earlier this week in San Fernando, leaving the victim, Juliana Murillo, traumatized and the community on edge. The incident occurred on April 15 around 3 p.m. on Park Avenue, with surveillance cameras capturing the disturbing assault.

Murillo, who had just purchased flowers for her mother’s birthday, was ambushed outside her apartment building by an unknown assailant. The attacker aggressively knocked her to the ground, causing her to hit her head on a door before stealing her purse containing valuable items like car keys, credit cards, and identification.

Despite suffering injuries, Murillo valiantly tried to resist the attacker before he fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle. The community, shocked by the brazen attack, has since come together to support Murillo and prevent similar incidents.

Neighbors, like Martin Aviles, shared their accounts of the event, with Aviles mentioning spotting the suspect’s vehicle but unable to identify the license plate. Meanwhile, Murillo revealed that the perpetrator attempted to use one of her credit cards to access a Paypal account shortly after the assault.

This assault in San Fernando follows a recent violent incident in Pasadena, where a woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint. The community, alarmed by the uptick in violent crimes, is urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

In a show of resilience, Murillo emphasized the importance of speaking out against such crimes to protect others and reiterated the need for unity and vigilance within the community. The San Fernando Police Department is actively seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect captured in the surveillance footage, and tips can be provided anonymously through the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline or online at L.A. Crime Stoppers website.
