Amjad Nikola, a paramedic with MDA, described the scene, stating that the victim was found unconscious, with no pulse or breath. Medical assessments confirmed that the injuries were critical, leading the team to declare him dead at the site of the incident.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the shooting. A police spokesperson indicated that the identity of the deceased has not yet been revealed. This incident follows another recent shooting in the region involving 29-year-old Wafa Awad, a resident of Tamra. On Friday, police arrested two men linked to her death after a local dispute escalated into violence. Investigators reported that the confrontation began during the day and culminated at night when unidentified assailants fired upon her home. Awad was struck by bullets while standing near a window and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical teams who rushed to the location.
Following Awad’s shooting, Northern District Commander Meir Eliyahu arrived to assess the situation, emphasizing the need for immediate actions. As part of an aggressive operational strategy, the police apprehended two suspects, aged 23 and 36, both from the area. Law enforcement is expected to request an extension of their detention in court on Sunday.
