WHITTIER, Calif. – A shooting early Sunday in Whittier left two people dead and another in critical condition, according to police. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Lambert Road and Painter Avenue, a busy commercial area with gas stations, fast food restaurants, and auto repair shops.
Police arrived at the scene to find a man with gunshot wounds in critical condition. Shortly after, two other shooting victims were discovered in a travel trailer parked in the lot of an auto repair shop nearby. Sadly, both men were declared dead at the scene.
The wounded man was treated at the location before being transported to a trauma center, where he remains hospitalized. Whittier Police spokesperson Emily Armstrong stated that the department is conducting an active investigation into the incident.
