Chhatarpur, India – A 28-year-old man accused of rape died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Chhatarpur district, following a violent confrontation in which he attacked three people, including the minor girl who had accused him of the crime. The suspect, identified as Bhola Ahirwar, reportedly left behind a note claiming he was being wrongly implicated.
The tragic sequence of events unfolded in a village governed by the Civil Lines police jurisdiction, where Ahirwar had been evading capture for three months. The local police had placed a bounty of Rs 20,000 on Ahirwar in an effort to facilitate his arrest since a minor girl filed a rape case against him.
The incident occurred around 10:30 AM when Ahirwar, armed with a pistol, forced his way into the girl’s home. He demanded that she retract her accusation. As tensions escalated, the girl’s 65-year-old grandfather stepped in to protect her and was fatally shot in the chest by Ahirwar.
The violence did not stop with the elderly man’s death. Ahirwar then shot the girl in the stomach before attempting to flee the scene. A 23-year-old uncle of the victim tried to intervene but was also shot, sustaining critical injuries.
Authorities responded to the scene after being alerted to the shooting. Agam Jain, the Superintendent of Police, confirmed the casualties to the media, reporting that three individuals were involved; one elder succumbed to his injuries at the spot, while the other two were quickly taken to a nearby district hospital. The critically injured uncle was later transferred to Gwalior for specialized treatment.
Following the attack, a massive manhunt was initiated to locate Ahirwar. Police urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his capture.
However, before law enforcement could apprehend him, Ahirwar was found deceased with a gunshot wound, hinting at the depths of his desperation over the mounting legal pressures and the gravity of the accusations against him.
