Tragic Murder-Suicide Rocks Riverside County Community

Glendale, California – Two residents from Glendale tragically lost their lives in what appears to be a murder-suicide in an unincorporated area of Riverside County, authorities reported on Sunday. The Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch received a notification from the Glendale Police Department that two individuals had threatened suicide and were potentially in the vicinity of Cajalco Road and La Sierra Avenue, close to Lake Mathews in a rural area south of Riverside around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered the bodies of Matthew Haze, 54, and Naomi Haneji-Haze, 53, both from Glendale, inside a vehicle, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department. The incident is currently being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Following the discovery of the bodies, the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station posted on social media that they had a significant presence on Cajalco for an ongoing investigation. Cajalco between La Sierra and Lake Mathews was temporarily closed but later reopened. Further details regarding the incident have not been disclosed at this time.
