Tragic Accident Leaves Louisville Mother Shattered After 4-Year-Old Son’s Shooting Death

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Chickasaw neighborhood, as 4-year-old Zacarion Depp was shot near the 800 block of South 37th Street. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he did not survive. His mother, Kryzshon Depp, described the shooting as a tragic accident, though she did not provide further details. “People are not perfect. It was an accident. Kids are nosy. You can’t judge somebody, and you don’t know what’s going on. It was an accident. His daddy loves him. I love him,” she expressed.

Depp emphasized the impact of Zacarion’s death, describing him as an active, happy, and caring brother and son. She lovingly recalled his fondness for Spiderman and his adventurous spirit. “My baby was a good baby. My baby had a good heart. My baby wanted to do anything and everything. He loved Spiderman. He thought he was Spiderman,” said Depp. She also expressed the profound pain of having to bury her child, a sentiment shared by many parents who have experienced similar tragedies.

In light of this heartbreaking incident, Depp urged families to be vigilant and attentive to their children, emphasizing the fragile nature of life. “You’ve got to pay attention to them because literally the click of a finger and your life could be over,” she stated. Meanwhile, the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) confirmed that all parties involved in the shooting have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

To assist with funeral expenses for Zacarion Depp, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated. This serves as an opportunity for the community to come together and support the family during this difficult time. The loss of a young life reminds us of the importance of cherishing and safeguarding our loved ones, and hopefully, efforts to prevent such tragedies can be reinforced through this unfortunate event.
