Three Suspects in Custody Following Brutal Assault on Juvenile in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. – Authorities have apprehended suspects following a violent incident that left a juvenile severely injured in Franklin County. Waynesboro Police took 18-year-old Kendill Raleigh and two other juvenile suspects into custody after discovering a young victim stripped, beaten, and covered in blood on May 12. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office played a crucial role in the arrest of the suspects on May 20.

Law enforcement responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of East North Street involving a juvenile who appeared to be between 12 and 15 years old. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim lying in the middle of the street, bruised and bleeding from the head. The victim, confused and disoriented, was unable to comprehend the unfolding events.

Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived and determined the victim required immediate transportation to Hershey Medical Center due to the severity of their injuries. Subsequent investigations revealed video evidence identifying additional individuals who participated in the brutal attack.

Reports from law enforcement detailed the presence of Kendill Raleigh and two other juvenile males in nearby bushes before their sudden emergence and assault on the victim. Raleigh and his accomplices unleashed a barrage of punches, kicks, and stomps on the victim, rendering them motionless and seemingly unconscious on the ground.

Further video evidence showcased the assailants forcefully stripping the victim of their clothing, dragging them by their pants, and causing their head to repeatedly hit the ground. The attackers continued their physical assault even while the victim remained unconscious, inflicting additional harm.

The victim sustained significant facial and head injuries as a result of the vicious attack. Currently undergoing treatment at Hershey Medical Center, the victim’s condition remains unknown as they recover from the traumatic ordeal. Raleigh is now facing serious charges, including felony-grade aggravated assault, robbery, recklessly endangering another person, and simple assault.

Authorities have confirmed the identification and apprehension of all suspects involved in the assault as of May 20. Police await the extradition of Raleigh and another suspect from Maryland to Pennsylvania to face the full extent of the law.
