Hiram, Georgia – A teenager is in custody, and two others are on the run in connection with the tragic shooting death of an 11-year-old boy in Georgia, authorities revealed. Osman Sesay Jr., 18, was apprehended for his alleged involvement in the incident and is currently being held in North Carolina, awaiting extradition back to Georgia, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest of Sesay came after a traffic stop on Saturday, May 11. Meanwhile, two other suspects, Al-Hamid Ibrahim Kuyateh and Nazier Lloyd Anderson, both aged 19, have warrants issued for their arrests in relation to the murder of the young boy. Authorities have described them as armed and dangerous, with the U.S. Marshals Service aiding in their capture efforts.
The victim, 11-year-old Zander Whatley, passed away in the hospital following a reported shooting late at night on April 29, as deputies responded to the scene. Zander’s obituary highlights his love for various sports like soccer, baseball, and football, along with his strong connection to his family, friends, and faith.
The investigation is still ongoing, with authorities refraining from sharing a motive or further details surrounding the tragic event. The community has been urged to come forward with any information related to the case or the whereabouts of the two suspects still at large.
