Teen Arrested After Deadly Attack on His Family in Fresno County, Deputies Say

FRESNO, Calif. – A 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody by authorities on suspicion of homicide after the tragic demise of his parents on Wednesday, which is being described as a “violent incident” by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the authorities, the teenager was allegedly responsible for the death of his mother, Se Vang, and father, Lue Yang, both 37 years old. Moreover, he also injured his 11-year-old sister, who is expected to survive. A seven-year-old family member who was present at the time of the incident was unharmed.

Deputies responded to a home on the 4700 block of Dunlap Road near Miramonte following a 911 call at around 7:40 p.m. The boy reported a break-in and an assault on his family, stating that the suspect had fled in a pickup truck.

Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered the bodies of the parents and an injured 11-year-old girl. Subsequently, evidence led them to believe that the teen had fabricated the break-in story and in fact, had used multiple weapons to attack his family.

As of now, investigators have yet to establish a motive for the tragic events. The search for weapons possibly used in the attack is still ongoing as law enforcement grapples with the magnitude of the situation wherein two children have lost their parents due to the alleged actions of their sibling.

Anyone in possession of additional information about the incident is urged to contact Detective Aurelio Flores at (559) 600-8208.
