Suspect with More Than 20 Prior Arrests Charged with Murder of NYPD Officer in Queens

QUEENS, New York – The NYPD charged Guy Rivera, 34, with murder, attempted murder, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon for the fatal shooting of NYPD officer Jonathan Diller. Diller, a 31-year-old father and three-year police veteran, was investigating a vehicle parked illegally at a bus stop in Far Rockaway when Rivera allegedly opened fire.
