Suspect in Idaho Falls Home Invasion Murder Revealed Shocking Details in Jail Video Call

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – A suspect in a home invasion that resulted in the death of a 51-year-old man was reportedly seen in a newly released jail video call discussing the alleged murder with multiple individuals. Lance Broncho, 23, is facing charges including first-degree murder, felony aggravated battery, felony robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm in connection to the incident.

During a preliminary hearing on April 23, prosecutors revealed a redacted phone call between Broncho and his mother, as well as a video call between Broncho and two unidentified friends shortly after his booking into the Bonneville County Jail. In the calls, Broncho was informed of the death of the man he allegedly shot, identified as Eric Leask, who was described as a family friend.

According to court documents, the Idaho Falls Police Department was alerted to a shooting on 4th Street where Broncho was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with the residents of the home. The victims, including Leask, tried to defend themselves against Broncho, who allegedly had a gun and demanded items.

After the shooting, both Leask and another individual were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, Leask succumbed to his injuries, while the other individual was discharged. Broncho was later apprehended at a nearby residence after a standoff with the SWAT team.

Investigators believe that Broncho mistakenly targeted the wrong house, possibly in search of marijuana. It was revealed that Broncho was on federal supervised release at the time of the incident and had an active felony warrant.

Broncho is currently being held without bond and is expected to appear in court for a district court arraignment soon. If convicted, he could face severe penalties, including the death penalty or a lengthy prison sentence. The case continues to unfold as authorities gather more evidence and conduct further investigations.
