Robbery Suspects Beat and Shoot Man for Car Keys in Kensington, Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A man was the victim of a violent robbery in the Kensington neighborhood on Friday night. The 43-year-old man was parked on Rising Sun Avenue around 11:30 pm when a male and female suspect armed with a gun entered his car, police said. They then forced the man to drive them to the 3000 block of Helen Street, where they assaulted him and eventually shot him in both legs. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s car keys.

After the incident, police responded to the 2900 block of Frankford Avenue and found the victim, who was then taken to Temple University Hospital and placed in stable condition. Authorities later found and towed the victim’s car from the 3000 block of Helen Street. The suspects, believed to be between 20 and 25-years-old, are currently being sought by the police.

The victim’s car was recovered, and he is in stable condition at the hospital. The investigation into the robbery and assault is ongoing.
