Night of Terror: Man in Iredell County Kills, Holds Children Hostage in Shocking Act of Violence

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A violent and tragic incident unfolded in Iredell County as a man took drastic actions, resulting in multiple deaths and a standoff with law enforcement. The harrowing night began with reports of gunshots on Home Drive near Bailey Road, prompting deputies to respond to the scene.

According to neighbors, three masked individuals entered a home on Home Drive, where they engaged in a violent confrontation that left two individuals dead and a third wounded. The victims were found bound and restrained, indicating a disturbing level of violence at the scene.

The suspect, identified as Justin Michael Strawser, barricaded himself in a residence on Ostwalt Amity Road, leading to a tense standoff with deputies. Throughout the night, Strawser fired shots at law enforcement officers, complicating efforts to resolve the situation peacefully.

Despite negotiations with Strawser, the standoff escalated, prompting authorities to utilize gas to force the suspect out of the residence. Eventually, all four children inside the home, as well as the suspect, exited the house. Tragically, deputies were forced to shoot Strawser, resulting in his death. Fortunately, no other individuals were physically harmed during the ordeal.

The victims of the initial violence were identified as Eduardo Cordova, 22, and Caleb Loper, 24. Authorities suspect that the incident may have been drug-related, with potential motives of robbery underlying the tragic events. While Strawser was apprehended, it remains unclear whether other suspects involved in the violence have been identified.
