New Orleans, Louisiana – A school bus driver in New Orleans is being praised as a hero after saving the lives of eight children when the bus she was driving caught fire due to mechanical issues.
Kia Rousseve, 28, was on her usual route to Lafayette Academy in the Central City neighborhood when she noticed the bus starting to smoke and lose power. Acting quickly, she calmly evacuated the children, ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade, from the bus before it burst into flames.
Recalling the harrowing experience, Rousseve shared that she relied on her motherly instincts to guide her actions during the emergency. Despite the terrifying situation, she managed to keep a level head and prioritize the safety of the children under her care.
