Neighbor Brutally Attacked in Oriole Gardens Condos Incident

Margate, Florida – A man faces felony assault charges for allegedly attacking his neighbor at the Oriole Gardens Phase II Condominiums, resulting in serious injuries to the victim. The incident, which took place on February 15, unfolded with a verbal exchange between the two neighbors that escalated into a violent confrontation inside the community clubhouse.

According to the Margate Police Department report, the victim recounted how the dispute began in the hallway of their condominium complex before moving to the clubhouse. The situation turned violent when the man, identified as Israel Rentas, allegedly cornered the woman against a wall, despite her attempts to distance herself. Rentas, weighing between 200-250 pounds, reportedly grabbed the victim by the head and threw her to the ground, causing significant injuries.

The victim suffered a severe concussion, apparent facial injuries, and was in significant pain. She was taken to Northwest Medical Center, where she underwent further evaluation for potential brain injury. Initially hesitant to press charges, the victim changed her mind the following day upon realizing the extent of her injuries.

On February 16, the victim formally pressed charges against Rentas, providing a detailed account of the incident to the Margate Police Department. Rentas was subsequently arrested at his residence and taken to Broward County Main Jail. He was later released on a $7,500 bond after posting bail.
