Michigan Truck Drivers Arrested in Violent Bucks County Comic Book Store Robbery

Bucks County, Pennsylvania – Two men hailing from Michigan face charges for a violent robbery at a comic book store in Bucks County in September 2022, according to the district attorney’s office. The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Zackery Maximus Tucker and 35-year-old Caleb James-Lorenze Simpson, are accused of attacking the owner of Comic Collection in Feasterville, Lower Southampton Township.

Upon entering the store on September 18, 2022, Tucker and Simpson allegedly posed as customers before assaulting the owner, leaving him tied up and beaten. The owner suffered several injuries, including contusions, lacerations, and broken ribs. The suspects proceeded to steal various items from the store, including a laptop, cash, comic books, Pokémon cards, and action figures.

Authorities identified the suspects based on surveillance footage and recovered clothing worn by the perpetrators, along with stolen merchandise, near the crime scene. Further investigation led to the arrest of Simpson, who was detained in Michigan before facing extradition to Pennsylvania. Tucker, on the other hand, was arraigned and is currently held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $300,000 bail.

Following a tip received in December 2023, detectives linked Simpson and Tucker to the robbery, with evidence from the Pennsylvania State Police crime lab supporting their involvement. Simpson had previously been arrested for attempting to steal a firearm in Michigan. The collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies across states ultimately led to the identification and apprehension of the suspects involved in the violent robbery.

The harrowing incident at Comic Collection sheds light on the vulnerability faced by small businesses and underscores the critical role of law enforcement in bringing perpetrators to justice. The diligent investigation and subsequent arrest of Tucker and Simpson serve as a reminder of the tireless efforts of authorities in ensuring the safety and security of communities. As the legal proceedings unfold, the Bucks County district attorney’s office continues to pursue justice for the victim and hold the accused accountable for their actions.
