Michael Cyril Creighton Teases Wild Revelations in Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Finale—Could a Spinoff Be on the Horizon?

New York, N.Y. — Michael Cyril Creighton is keeping details under wraps regarding the highly anticipated finale of “Only Murders in the Building,” but he is offering intriguing hints about what viewers can expect. In a recent interview, Creighton described the upcoming conclusion as “surprising, satisfying, and wild,” suggesting that plenty of twists await the audience.

The fifth season of the popular Hulu series follows amateur detectives Mabel Mora, played by Selena Gomez, Oliver Putnam, portrayed by Martin Short, and Charles Haden-Savage, embodied by Steve Martin, as they delve into the mysterious death of the Arconia building’s doorman, Lester. Their investigation leads to a shocking revelation: Nicky, another character, meets his end as well. In the penultimate episode, the audience learns crucial details from fellow doorman Randall, who exposes that Lester killed Nicky in a fit of rage after learning that the building might be converted into a casino.

As the murder mystery unfolds, the plot thickens with the introduction of a stolen finger and scuff marks that suggest unusual activity. Howard, played by Creighton, identifies that the marks were made by someone on a motorized scooter. This leads to suspicion falling on Nicky’s mother, Nonna, as all eyes turn to her. Creighton expressed his satisfaction with Howard’s evolving role, noting that it was fulfilling to see him contribute meaningfully to the investigation.

“The fact that Howard has a win at the end of the episode was wonderful,” Creighton shared. He highlighted Howard’s ongoing journey to discover his talents throughout the series, emphasizing that his true strength lies in being a supportive sidekick to Mabel, Oliver, and Charles.

As Season 5 nears its conclusion, Creighton is already thinking ahead. He envisions Howard experiencing more moments of triumph and happiness. “Seeing him solve a clue and feel appreciated by the trio was a bright spot,” he said, reflecting on Howard’s character growth. “It would be great to see him happier, as we haven’t seen that side of him much.”

In addition to his hopes for Howard’s character development, Creighton has a concept for a potential spinoff focused on Howard’s adventures. He imagines the character traveling globally with his dog, solving mysteries along the way, while the main trio makes occasional cameo appearances. Initially considering an animated format, Creighton mentioned, “If he’s off on his explorations, I’d be open to that too.”

The Season 5 finale of “Only Murders in the Building” is set to air on Hulu on October 28, ensuring fans will soon discover how this intricate mystery wraps up. As excitement builds, the show continues to captivate audiences with its blend of humor and suspense.
