Men from Michigan charged in violent robbery of Bucks County comic book store in 2022

Bucks County, Pennsylvania – Two men stand accused of a violent robbery at a comic book store in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, as revealed by the county’s district attorney’s office. Both individuals, allegedly truck drivers from Michigan, faced charges related to the incident. Zackery Maximus Tucker, 22-years-old, appeared in court and is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, and other offenses. He is currently held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $300,000 bail.

The second suspect, 35-year-old Caleb James-Lorenze Simpson, remains in custody in Michigan pending extradition to Pennsylvania. The attack, which transpired at the Comic Collection store in the Feasterville section of Lower Southampton Township, involved the brutal assault of the store owner, a 61-year-old individual found tied up and injured inside the premises. The suspects posed as customers before initiating the attack, leaving the victim with contusions, lacerations, and broken ribs.

During the robbery, one assailant donned a black hooded sweatshirt, while the other sported a red “Deadpool” t-shirt. After luring the owner to assist with merchandise on a high shelf, the perpetrators pushed him off a ladder, proceeded to beat him, and threatened him with a knife. Subsequently, they stole various items, including a laptop, cash, comic books, and Pokémon cards before fleeing.

Law enforcement officers recovered discarded clothing and stolen goods in the vicinity, aiding in the identification of the suspects. The perseverance of investigators led to a breakthrough when a detective received a tip linking the truckers, Simpson and Tucker, to the robbery. Simpson’s arrest in Michigan for a separate offense further solidified their connection to the crime.

Following an extensive investigation and analysis by the Pennsylvania State Police crime lab, Simpson was conclusively linked to the Comic Collection robbery. The determination and collaborative efforts of law enforcement across state lines culminated in the apprehension and prosecution of the accused individuals, ensuring justice for the victim of the violent robbery at the Bucks County comic book store.
