Marlins Hockey Team Dominates Weekend Matchups, Extending Win Streak to Five Games Against South Dakota Competition

MITCHELL, South Dakota – The Mitchell Marlins boys hockey team celebrated the achievements of its nine senior players at the Mitchell Activities Center on Friday night. Not only did they recognize their senior players, but they also treated their fans to a thrilling victory. The Marlins dominated the game with six goals in the opening period, ultimately defeating Brandon Valley with a score of 12-1. Their winning streak against South Dakota competition extended to five games after a 5-1 road win against Sioux Center, Iowa on Saturday.

The game against Sioux Center saw a strong performance from the Marlins’ players. Mitchell outshot Brandon Valley 38-23, displaying their dominance throughout the game. Eight Marlins players contributed goals to the victory, with Mick Dailey securing a hat trick and a pair of assists. With a well-rounded team effort, Mitchell convincingly secured the win.

In Saturday’s game against Sioux Center, a scoreless first period was followed by a strong performance from Mitchell. Despite a tied game, the Marlins pulled ahead in the final period, scoring four goals on 20 shots.
