Manhunt Launched for Suspect in Machete Attack Outside London Mosque

London, UK – Police have initiated a search for Abdullahi Mohamed, 24, after a man was attacked with a machete outside a mosque in London. The incident occurred directly outside the Deptford Islamic Centre on Childers Street on Friday, February 9. An image of Mohamed has been released by the authorities to aid in his apprehension.

The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained injuries from a large machete during the assault and was promptly taken to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening. Officials have conducted numerous investigations to locate Mohamed but have decided to release his image as they suspect he may be evading authorities.

Detective Constable James Richardson from the Metropolitan Police stated that Mohamed is aware of the ongoing search for him. “This was a highly violent attack involving a large machete, and Mohamed is considered to be a dangerous individual,” Richardson emphasized. Any individuals who possess knowledge of Mohamed’s whereabouts are urged to contact law enforcement.

Law enforcement has clarified that the incident is not categorized as a hate crime. Individuals with information on Mohamed’s location are advised to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC quoting CRIS 3203506/24. In the event of a visual sighting, it is recommended not to approach Mohamed but to instead notify emergency services by dialing 999. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
