Alex Ogden, aged 28, was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm and faced sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court following his admission of guilt. The incident took place on October 18, 2023, where Ogden assaulted a man in his 50s with a knife, inflicting cuts to his face and a broken nose while verbally abusing him with homophobic slurs before fleeing.
The Central North Public Protection Team initiated an investigation, leading to a nationwide search for Ogden in collaboration with police forces across the country. After forensic evidence linked Ogden to the crime scene, he was eventually tracked down and arrested in Southwark on November 2.
