Anamosa, Iowa – A man in Anamosa, Iowa, who shot and killed a grocery store worker in Monticello has been sentenced to life in prison after changing his initial plea. Nathan Russell, against the advice of his attorneys, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Tuesday for the shooting of Aaron McAtee, 48, outside the Fareway store where McAtee was employed on November 7, 2023.
