HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators are currently questioning a man who was taken into custody after a fatal shooting at an apartment complex on Grant Road. The Sheriff’s Office is working to determine whether the man is a suspect or a witness in the case.
The incident occurred in the courtyard of the apartment complex, where deputies responded to reports of a shooting. They discovered a male victim in his early 20s who had been fatally shot. According to Sgt. Sidney Miller, the victim and a friend had met up with three other men, and the situation turned deadly during some kind of transaction.
After the shooting, the possible suspect fled the scene and evaded deputies for a period of time before being apprehended. The man was eventually located in a backyard near Mills Rd. and Perry Rd. following an extensive search conducted by law enforcement officers.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the shooting victim. The man taken into custody was reportedly bitten by a K9 unit and required medical attention at a hospital. Sgt. Miller emphasized that the individual’s involvement in the incident is still under investigation, and it has not been confirmed whether he was a witness or a suspect.
