Man Arrested for Vicious Bleach Attack on Auto Mechanic in Rochelle Park

ROCHELLE PARK, New Jersey – A violent attack involving bleach left a car mechanic in Bergen County hospitalized, sparking outrage in the local community. The suspect, identified as Alonge Jones, allegedly carried out the attack at Lodi Gulf, an auto repair shop in Rochelle Park, following a confrontation over a brake repair incident involving his girlfriend.

Surveillance footage captured Jones throwing bleach in the mechanic’s face before vandalizing the vehicle’s windshield with a tool. According to reports, the suspect accused the mechanic of inappropriate behavior towards his girlfriend during a previous visit to the shop, leading to a tense altercation.

After a thorough review of the security video, authorities were able to positively identify Jones as the assailant. He was subsequently apprehended in Teaneck and charged with aggravated assault. The mechanic, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained injuries to his face and vision, receiving medical treatment for his condition.
