Gautier, Mississippi – A tragic incident unfolded on a Greyhound bus in Gautier, Mississippi, resulting in the arrest of one individual and the loss of a young life. The Gautier Police Chief, David Bever, reported that the authorities received a distressing 911 call late Sunday night regarding a deadly shooting on the bus as it traveled along I-10 eastbound.
The suspected shooter, identified as Rashaad Keimond Price from Slidell, Louisiana, reportedly demanded the bus driver to stop the vehicle so he could disembark. Following this request, the driver complied and dropped off the suspect near Exit 61. It wasn’t until the bus reached a gas station on Gautier-Vancleave Road that officers discovered the victim, identified as 25-year-old Jay Jackson from Decatur, Georgia, deceased inside the bus.
Law enforcement officers managed to locate and apprehend Price around 3:30 a.m. after spotting him running across the interstate. Price, now under arrest and charged with murder, is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center without bond. The tragic incident has prompted the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) to take over the investigation as Gautier Police determined it occurred outside of their jurisdiction.
