Local Law Enforcement Offers $5,000 Reward for Information on Fatal Norristown Shooting

NORRISTOWN, PA – Law enforcement officials in Montgomery County are offering a reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of four suspects involved in the slaying of a 35-year-old man in Norristown on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at about 7:49 p.m. when William Grover Carter of Norristown was attacked while walking along the zero block of W. Wood Street. Police reported that Carter had just left a friend’s home and was on his way to his car when he was confronted by three men dressed in black. He was robbed and then shot to death.

Authorities believe the assailants arrived in a gray Toyota RAV-4, with a fourth individual waiting in the car as the incident unfolded. The four suspects fled the scene in the vehicle, which was later found in flames at the intersection of Willow and Roberts streets around 3 a.m. on Sunday. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Cheltenham on Dec 21.
