San Antonio, TX – A fatal shooting took place on Thursday morning in northwest San Antonio, resulting in the death of a tenant. The incident occurred during an altercation between the tenant and his landlord.
Officers from the San Antonio Police Department were dispatched to the scene on West Huisache Avenue in the 1000 block. They arrived at approximately 8:30 a.m. following reports of an ongoing shooting.
According to authorities, a dispute had arisen between the 37-year-old landlord and the 41-year-old tenant. Both individuals were armed, and both pulled out their weapons, but it was the landlord who fired, striking the tenant in the head outside the residence. As he was being transported to the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Both weapons were recovered. The landlord is cooperating with investigators. No word on whether he faces any charges. Law enforcement has detained the landlord, with an investigation underway to determine whether the shooting was self-defense.

Gonzalez stated, “I had just entered the restroom, and right when I sat down, I heard a gunshot and a lady scream, and then, like, maybe 10 seconds later, I heard five more shots.”
The residence where the shooting occurred is occupied by approximately five individuals, according to police. Records revealed that authorities had been called to the address on West Huisache Avenue more than 17 times in 2023, with reports ranging from disturbances to recorded burglaries.
