Judge Orders Incarceration for Woman Sentenced in Last Capital Murder Case Associated with Robbery Resulting in Death

A San Antonio, Texas woman was sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication for her involvement in a 2020 robbery that resulted in the death of Jasmine Williams, a 19-year-old mother. The woman, Alissa Weese, was the last of seven defendants charged with capital murder and robbery to be sentenced in this case.

Weese was also ordered to serve six months in prison as an initial punishment, in an effort to make her understand the severity of her actions. The robbery took place at the home of Williams, where she was shot multiple times, leaving her two young children alone.

The defendants, including Weese, took several items from the home, including shoes, a piggy bank, and Williams’ debit card and cellphone. Williams was found by her fiancĂ©, and the case has been plagued with complications, with charges being filed, dismissed, and refiled as defendants shifted blame and changed their stories.

Despite the uncertainty and complexity of the case, plea agreements were reached with some of the defendants, resulting in reduced charges and prison sentences. The woman’s involvement in the crime was highlighted during her sentencing, with the judge hoping that the time served would prompt her to make better decisions in the future.

Ultimately, the case was heard in the 226th District Court, with various defendants reaching plea agreements and receiving sentences ranging from eight years to 30 years in prison. The robbery scheme that led to the death of Jasmine Williams serves as a tragic reminder of the consequences of criminal actions.
