Johnson Center Hosts Summer Art Explosion Promoting Kindness and Creativity Among Kids

Troy, Alabama – The Johnson Center in Troy is gearing up for an anticipated ‘Art Explosion’ this summer, offering a diverse range of arts programs for children. From literature and dance to printmaking and sculpture, kids are set to explore various facets of the artistic world.

Andrea Pack, the director of the Johnson Center for the Arts, is leading the Summer Art Explosion and expressed excitement for the upcoming activities. The young participants will delve into “The Cool Bean” by Pete Oswald and Jory John, a picture book that emphasizes kindness and inclusivity.

Under the guidance of Rebekah Alexander, the children have engaged in collaborative art projects, learning, sharing, and ultimately embracing kindness towards one another. The Summer Art Explosion is designed to provide a holistic arts experience, allowing kids to unleash their creativity through activities such as airbrushing T-shirts, screen printing, and creating collages.

As the program culminates, families will be treated to a showcase of songs and dances performed by the children at The Studio. This event will also serve as an opportunity for the young artists to exhibit their various art projects and demonstrate the values of being ‘Cool, Kind Beans.’

The Summer Art Explosion at the Johnson Center not only nurtures artistic talent but also instills important values of cooperation, empathy, and kindness in the participating children. Through a fusion of creativity and community spirit, the program aims to inspire young minds and foster a love for the arts that goes beyond artistic expression.
