WICHITA, Kansas – The community of Wichita, Kansas is shaken after a tragic shooting left an infant dead and two women critically injured. The incident occurred on Monday evening at Sugar Creek Apartments near the intersection of Pawnee and Oliver.
At around 7:20 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at the apartments, where they found three individuals with gunshot wounds. Two 24-year-old women were in critical condition, while a 3-month-old baby was unresponsive and later died at the hospital.
Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan condemned the senseless act of violence, describing the shooter as a “cowardly individual” who callously fired into the home without regard for the people inside.
