Husband Charged with Murder in Kerr County Shooting Death of Wife

Kerrville, Texas: Authorities in Kerr County are actively investigating the tragic incident surrounding the shooting death of 36-year-old Ana Marie Puente Ortiz early Tuesday morning. While the investigation is ongoing, the victim’s husband has been charged with her murder.

Sheriff Larry Leitha of Kerr County revealed that deputies from the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Corbin Circle at 1:48 a.m. on Tuesday following reports of an injured individual. Upon arrival, they discovered Ortiz, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. She was rushed to Peterson Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead shortly before 5 a.m.
