WASHINGTON – Police reported that a man was shot by a gunman even after he turned over his belongings during an armed robbery in the District on Saturday night. The incident took place at 9 p.m. in the 900 block of 12th Street.
According to investigators, the victim was walking on U Street when two suspects demanded his belongings. Although the man complied, one of the suspects shot him before both perpetrators fled the scene.
The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Surveillance camera images of the suspects have been released by the officers.
