Gruesome Dog Attack Prompts Animal Abuse Investigation in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – An animal abuse investigation is underway in Montgomery County after law enforcement received multiple calls about a disturbing video circulating on social media. The video shows a small dog being attacked by multiple large dogs, prompting an urgent response from the community and law enforcement.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the homeowners living at the property where the attack took place. Despite the graphic nature of the video, authorities believe the homeowners were not present at the time of the attack. The fate of the dog in the video remains uncertain.

According to the Houston SPCA, 37 dogs, including 14 puppies, were rescued from the property. Some of the animals were found to be in poor health, suffering from medical issues such as anemia and malnourishment. All of the animals are now in the care of the SPCA.

The case has been turned over to Montgomery County Constable Pct. 2, where officials are gathering evidence to present to the district attorney. While there is no limit on the number of animals a person can have in unincorporated Montgomery County, authorities are looking into possible cases of hoarding and animal abuse.

“It is important to note that both homeowners are animal lovers and are deeply upset about what has transpired,” a statement from MCSO said. Despite this, officials have emphasized that they will pursue the case to the fullest extent of the law if abuse is discovered.

One neighbor, who chose to remain anonymous due to concerns about retaliation, expressed shock and concern over the situation, saying, “It’s horrible. It’s freaked me out all day. My heart has been hurting over what my neighbor said about the video and what surfaced in that. It really hurts my heart. I hope those animals get the care that they need.”

As the investigation continues, the community is waiting for updates on the animals’ conditions and the possible repercussions for the homeowners involved.
