Gruesome Discovery Made on Bell County Road Leads to Unsolved Murder Mystery After 10 Years

Temple, Texas – The family of Patricia “Patti” Aguillon continues to seek justice for the brutal murder she endured on August 14, 2014, in Bell County. Aguillon, a kind and beloved wife, mother of three, and grandmother of six, was found shot in the head on the side of a rural road. Despite a decade passing, the mystery of her murder remains unsolved.
Investigators discovered Aguillon’s body after a man commuting to work came across her remains near Moody early on that fateful Thursday morning. Aguillon had been fatally shot at close range, indicating that the crime likely occurred less than 12 hours before her body was discovered. Despite finding a shell casing near the scene, the investigation hit a dead end as the casing did not yield any leads or forensic evidence.
Although there isn’t a specific suspect in Aguillon’s murder, authorities have a person of interest already in custody. This individual, connected to a local gang, is serving time for a separate violent offense. With the potential for parole, time is of the essence in gathering the necessary information and evidence to bring the case to court. Public cooperation and witness testimony are crucial in building a strong case for prosecution.
Bell County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Corey Powell urges anyone with information on Aguillon’s case to come forward to help bring closure and justice to her family. Tips can be shared anonymously with Crime Stoppers or directly with the BCSD. The smallest detail could be the missing piece needed to solve this cold case and provide Aguillon’s loved ones with the answers they deserve.
