Good samaritan fatally shot at Houston McDonald’s in act of bravery

Houston, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend at a McDonald’s in West Houston, where a Good Samaritan lost his life. The victim, identified as Houston attorney Jeffrey Limmer, was fatally shot at the McDonald’s off of I-10 near Chimney Rock.

According to detectives, Limmer, 46, was known for standing up for what was right. Witnesses stated that he intervened in a situation involving an irate customer at the fast-food restaurant, ultimately leading to his untimely death.

Friends and family of Limmer, including longtime friend Greg Monteverde, were shocked and devastated by the news. Monteverde, who had known Limmer since they were children, described the loss as a “gut punch.” The two friends had played football together at Memorial High School, with Limmer serving as Monteverde’s quarterback.

Despite the tragic circumstances, Monteverde highlighted Limmer’s character, noting his bravery and kindness. He recalled how Limmer would always include others, even those who may not have been the most popular, in social gatherings.

The last conversation Monteverde had with Limmer revolved around football, with Limmer expressing pride in his cousin who had recently been drafted by the Rams. These fond memories only added to the sense of loss felt by those who knew Limmer.

Authorities reported that the fatal altercation occurred when an angry customer at the McDonald’s became violent, grabbing a gun from his car and shooting Limmer. The gunman fled the scene in a blue Ford pick-up truck, and as of now, remains at large.

Despite the tragic outcome, those who knew Limmer remembered him as a man of faith and kindness. His friend Monteverde believed that Limmer was now looking down on them from heaven, offering comfort in the face of such senseless violence.

Investigators are actively working to apprehend the suspect responsible for taking Limmer’s life, as the community mourns the loss of a beloved attorney and friend.
