Florida woman missing, car found burned

TITUSVILLE, FL – The mysterious disappearance of Jessie Kirk has sparked a full-scale investigation after she missed her routine morning walk. Search efforts are focused around Haulover Canal in Titusville, while a prior search at the Brevard County landfill yielded no new leads.

A major development arose when Kirk’s car was found incinerated near State Road 50 and State Road 520, in a secluded area by Christmas. Authorities are leaving no stone unturned, working tirelessly through the night to uncover any traces of Kirk.

Attention turned to David Barber, who was arrested for prowling at Kirk’s property. Barber, known to law enforcement, was discovered near the home with fresh burns, hours after Kirk’s car was found burned.

Barber’s history with the law is troubling. He is connected to Kirk through a family relation and has previously been involved in a stalking case with an ex-girlfriend. In late 2024, Barber’s former partner obtained a restraining order against him for suspicious behavior involving her vehicle.

Past incidents include a December arrest for attempted burglary after Barber tried to access the apartment he once shared with his ex, from whom he split in mid-2024. Now, he faces charges of loitering and prowling, with authorities investigating any possible links to Kirk’s case.

The Titusville Police Department continues to pursue all leads, encouraging community assistance in the search for Jessie Kirk. As the investigation unfolds, the hope remains for a positive resolution.
