BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — A store clerk in Beaumont’s north end was fatally shot late Friday night, leading to the arrest of one suspect and the search for another, according to Beaumont Police.
Keandre Robinson, 19, of Beaumont, was arrested on a murder warrant in connection with the shooting of store clerk Sheikh Abir-Hossain, 34, of Beaumont, who was shot before cigarettes were stolen.
The shooting occurred at the Kris Food Mart at 3090 Gulf St. Friday night, according to a news release from Beaumont Police.
Robinson was found just a few houses to the west of the store and is in custody, but police are still searching for a second suspect who was also caught on surveillance video.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging the public to provide any information that may lead to the apprehension of the second suspect.
Crime Stoppers tips played a crucial role in the arrest of Robinson, who was given an $800,000 bond.
