Manchester, New Hampshire – The investigation into the unsolved homicide of Diethelm Baumann, a German national fatally shot in downtown Manchester on February 26, 1993, has left authorities searching for answers.
When Manchester Police responded to a report of a shooting at the rear of the Lafayette Club on Canal Street, they found Baumann, 30, with a gunshot wound to the face. Despite the presence of two to three individuals in the alley where the incident occurred and a crowded club with 75-100 people, no one was able to identify the shooter.
An eyewitness described the suspect as a white man with a mustache and dark hair, leading police to believe that the victim and the perpetrator were acquainted. The shooter was reportedly seen leaving the scene in a snow-covered pickup truck.
Following an extensive months-long investigation, no arrests have been made in connection to Baumann’s murder. Law enforcement authorities have reached out to the public for any potential leads or information that could aid in solving this cold case.
