Fatal Shooting at Philadelphia Graduation Party Leaves One Dead, Three Injured in Southwest Philly

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – A shooting in Southwest Philadelphia on Saturday night left one person dead and three others injured, according to authorities. The incident took place outside a home on the 1000 block of South 51st Street around 6:30 p.m.

Police found two juveniles and two adults with gunshot wounds at the scene. A 23-year-old was shot in the leg, while two 17-year-olds sustained injuries in the arm and body. An 18-year-old was shot in the face. The 18-year-old later died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, while the other victims were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Investigators revealed that the shooting seemed to have occurred from both sides of the street, with at least 25 to 26 shell casings found in the area. The incident occurred during a family gathering or possibly a graduation party, attracting many attendees. Fortunately, no one inside the home where the gathering was held was injured, but multiple homes and parked cars in the vicinity were hit by gunfire.

Police are still investigating the scene, which includes a second location related to the incident. The authorities have not released the victim’s identity and no arrests have been made yet, although a weapon was recovered on-site.
