Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Man in Iredell County Due to Excessive Speed

Statesville, North Carolina – A tragic motorcycle crash in Iredell County on I-77 North near mile marker 56 claimed the life of 35-year-old Dustin Kyle Pope. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. when Pope, riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, failed to reduce speed and collided with a northbound 1998 International box truck. As a result, Pope was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the box truck, Ruben Reyna Anorve, 45, of Charlotte, did not sustain any injuries in the collision.
