ALPAUGH, Calif. – Tragedy struck in Alpaugh, California, as a woman named Melissa Long was killed by her husband on Monday, according to information provided by her family on a GoFundMe page.
The incident occurred on Jan. 29 when Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a disturbance call at the 5400 Block of Ellis Road in Alpaugh just before 5:00 p.m. Subsequently, a woman with gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Following the investigation, detectives arrested the woman’s husband in connection with her death, as confirmed by family and friends.
In light of this tragic event, donations for funeral services and related expenses are being accepted through a GoFundMe page. Organizer Dianna Walstead has also pledged that any surplus donations will be given to a domestic violence prevention charity.
