Did DeSantis and Abbott Team Up to Send Planes of Migrants to Martha’s Vineyard?

At least two or more planes of illegal migrants were sent to the posh area of Massachusetts known as Martha’s Vineyard. Reports are coming out that DeSantis authorized two planes of migrants to Massachusetts Island.

Currently, it is unclear how many planes may have arrived on the island. Sen. Julian Cyr said one of the flights originated in San Antonio, Tex., and was part of a larger effort to divert migrants from border states. Interviews with the migrants also confirmed that one of the planes was from Texas. Governor Abbott of Texas has authorized transportation of migrants to various cities, including Washington D.C., New York, and Chicago.

According to My Times, there has been a lot of confusion surrounding today’s events. Several cell phones were provided to individuals before departure by a “company” that organized the flights. Migrants used translation apps on those phones getting off the plane.

State Rep. Dylan Fernandes, D-Falmouth, arrived on the Island Wednesday evening and visited the church to assess the situation. Fernandes stated that it appears that one if not many Republican Governors chartered flights from the south to come and drop undocumented immigrants on Martha’s Vineyard. Whether it’s these governors or whoever it is, all they care about is getting some political points on Tucker Carlson and Fox News, he added.

The Vineyard Gazette reported that a plane carrying 48 migrants from Venezuela and Colombia arrived on Wednesday afternoon. According to interviews, some migrants stated that they went through 10 countries before they got to Texas. They spent four days in Texas and boarded a plane to the northern island.

The island of Martha’s Vineyard is well-known for being a playground for wealthy progressives, such as former President Barack Obama, who purchased a home there in 2019 for many millions of dollars.

Meanwhile, in Florida, it has been confirmed that two planes full of illegal migrants were sent to the Massachusetts Island. On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis finally made good on his pledge to drop off illegal immigrants in progressive states by delivering two planes full of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. DeSantis made the vow during his campaign for the governorship of Florida.

According to Taryn Fenske, the governor’s communications director, two planes carrying illegal immigrants arrived today in Martha’s Vineyard as part of Florida’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.

Fenske stated that States like Massachusetts, New York, and California could better facilitate the care of these individuals. She said these sanctuary cities had invited illegal migrants into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as “sanctuary states” and their support for the Biden Administration’s open border policies. She said these individuals would be better able to stay in our country because of the care these states will provide for them.

DeSantis, a Republican, suggested Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard as a destination for such migrants. Still, his office clarified at the time that they could also be sent to other ‘progressive’ states whose governors support blatant violations of federal immigration law. The governor’s office had previously issued a statement that read, we did not consent to Biden’s open-borders agenda. In our state, it is not the responsibility of Floridians to subsidize the illegal residence of aliens.

Emergency management representatives and island officials gathered to discuss the situation.

The Migrants were taken to Martha’s Vineyard Community Services before being relocated to Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School cafeteria, where they were given water bottles and fruit cups.

Leah Palmer and Sheryl Taylor coordinated interpreters at the high school cafeteria. The town of Edgartown will be in charge of housing the migrants overnight, according to Edgartown Fire Chief Alex Shaeffer during an emergency meeting on Zoom. Later, the migrants were transported to Edgartown’s St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

Senator Cyr said Gov. Charlie Baker had activated state emergency management resources, and Congressman Bill Keating contacted Homeland Security. Beth Folcarelli, chief executive officer of Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, stated that they don’t have refugee services.

In the same way as the reverse freedom rides of the 1960s, this endeavor manipulates families seeking a better life, Senator Cyr said. No one should be capitalizing on these families’ difficult circumstances for a “gotcha” moment.

These Democratic areas are quick to accuse the Republican border states of using the migrants as pawns. They seem to have forgotten that Biden started the transportation of illegal migrants when his administration sent a plane full of them to Fl in November of 2021.

The Republicans Governors of Arizona, Florida, and Texas are only giving them a fraction of what their cities deal with on a deal basis. They are complaining and declaring emergencies to free up resources. Imagine if they have to deal with thousands of illegal migrants in their cities every day.
