Denver-area Topgolf employee charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting coworker

DENVER, CO – A Topgolf employee in Thornton is facing serious charges after allegedly shooting and killing a coworker in the business’s parking lot on December 23. The suspect, Victor Salazar-Guarache, is accused of waiting in the parking lot and then ambushing the victim, firing 12 rounds at him. The victim, Bryce Holden, tragically passed away from his injuries at a hospital.

The 26-year-old suspect is also accused of shooting at another coworker and is now facing a first-degree murder charge and two counts of attempted first-degree murder in Adams County District Court. According to witness statements, Salazar-Guarache appeared to laugh as he was leaving the scene after the shooting.

Police responded to the incident in the early hours of the morning, finding Holden on the ground after being shot. Both the victim and the suspect worked as dishwashers at Topgolf, and it was reported that Salazar-Guarache left work early on the night of the incident.

Video footage and witness statements placed the suspect in the parking lot, where he took a shooting stance and fired at the victim and another coworker. Holden fell after the first shot, and Salazar-Guarache continued to shoot, firing a total of 12 rounds before fleeing the scene.

Salazar-Guarache was later found and taken into custody by Larimer County deputies as he was traveling north on Interstate 25. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 29, and he remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
