Deadly Gas Station Standoff: Customer Fights Back in Attempted Robbery, One Suspect Flees as Another is Killed

Decatur, Georgia — A late-night robbery attempt at a local gas station escalated into a deadly confrontation, leaving one suspect dead, another injured, and a third fugitive still at large. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. on Monday at an Exxon Circle K station located along Covington Highway.

According to the DeKalb County Police Department, two men attempted to rob a customer as he exited the store. During the altercation, the suspects reportedly opened fire on the customer, who returned fire, fatally striking one of the assailants while the other fled on foot.

The wounded customer sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Law enforcement is currently gathering evidence and piecing together details of the incident, which shook the local community.
